Police are investigating after a man on a pushbike allegedly approached a woman on the street and kicked her in the back in a shocking unprovoked attack in Melbourne’s west.
The 52-year-old was walking along Unitt Street in Melton when police allege the man cycled up behind her on the pushbike, got off and then kicked her in the back about 2.50pm on Tuesday.
CCTV vision showed the woman fall facedown onto the concrete.
She sustained serious injuries and has since had to undergo surgery.
Bystanders stopped to help the woman, while the offender rode off with an accompanying man, who was also riding a pushbike.
Victoria Police are looking to speak to two men they believe could help with their inquiries.
The first man is believed to be in their late teens to early 20s, and was wearing a bright blue hooded jumper, black backpack, black cap, dark-coloured pants and riding a black push bike.
The second man was also perceived to be in their late teens to early 20s, wearing a grey hooded jumper, beige cap, dark coloured pants and shoes and was also riding a black push bike
