Quarantine mitigation of isolated families ends “sad and scary” time
According to a young mother, relaxation of quarantine rules in the United Kingdom will end “sad” and “scary” times for people whose families live abroad.
Dr. Alix Dietzel, a Bristol teacher, has close families in Austria, Switzerland, France and the United States where she grew up. It was almost impossible to see them during the pandemic.
The new rules, introduced on Monday, mean that people who are fully vaccinated against Covid do not need to be quarantined when they arrive in the UK from many other countries, including the United States, the EU, and Switzerland. And make the trip much easier.
Dr. Dietzel, 33, told PA: “I was relieved. It’s been a while since I didn’t know when I could meet again.
“We are used to being away, but we usually meet each other several times a year, so not being able to travel is very sad and sometimes scary, especially in unpredictable pandemics.”
