A young man has been charged after four men were injured when they were changing a tyre on Sydney’s busy M7.
A Toyota Hilux towing a boat trailer and a Volkswagen Golf pulled over in the breakdown bay, south of Eastern Road at Rooty Hill on Friday night.
The four occupants of the vehicles were changing a tyre when a passing Toyota Camry hit the Volkswagen, injuring the group.
The men, aged 44, 49 and 39 were taken to hospital with various injuries, including broken legs and lacerations.
The three younger men are in a serious but stable condition while the 49-year-old only sustained minor injuries.
The alleged driver of the Camry was arrested at the scene.
The 22-year-old Canley Vale man was taken to Mt Druitt Hospital for mandatory testing.
He was later charged with three counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving, cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle and possessing a prohibited drug.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
